Multiple Alarm Residential Structure Fire 35 Vermillion Dr 02/05/16

Avon Volunteeers respond for a for a report of a structure fire ar 35 Vermillion Dr. Upon arrival the find an 8000+ square foot residential structure with fire and heavy smoke showing. The residence was located in a non-hydranted neighborhood built on the slopes of Avon Mountain. This would requirethe activation of two tanker task forces to supply water to the fight the fast moving fire which would spred throughout the massive structure. With fire venting through the roof and structural collapse imminent an exterior attack was mounted with multiple hand lines, master streams, and Avon's ladder truck. The multiples town response woud work for several hours to bring the fire under control and well into the night overhauling the pockets of fire left after the main body was knocked down.
