Second Alarm Structure Fire South St 03/02/12

Canton Volunteers responded for a possible structure fire on South St. They arrived to find heavy fire pushing from the second floor rear of a two store wood frame residential structure. A second alarm was sounded bringing an area task force response from Burlington, Simsbury, and East Farmington for assistance at the scene as well as station coverage. The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes weith extesive damage to the second floor and attic space of the structure. Crews would remain on scene for an extended period of time for overhauling operations. Alloccupants escaped without incident.
