Residential Structure Fire 16 Chapin Rd 01/28/14

Colebrook Volunteers responded in extremely cold conditions for the report of a structure fire at 16 Chapin Rd. The first arriving fire officer reported heavy fire in the rear of the structure. Mutual aid from Norfolk,Winsted, Pleasant Valley, Riverton, New Hartford, and Sandisfield,Mass responded with tankers and manpower and a fill site was established from the bridge at Sandy Brook Rd. The fire was knocked down after about 40 minutes but crews would spend several hours overhauling and chasing hot spots.
