Morris Volunteer Fire

Dwelling Fire Berthiaume Passway 10/02/16

Morris Volunteers along with mutual aid from Bethlehem and Bantam Volunterrs wee dispatched to Berthiaume Psway for the report of a structure fire. First arriving units found a spit level wood frame dwelling with heavy fire visiblefrom the basement extending up the fron of the building to the second floor and attic. Several attack lines were stretched from the first engine and crews used tank water from the engine and first tanker while a rural water supply was being established. Crews would use the Morris LDH Reel truck to stretch over 1500 feet of Large Diameter Hosefrom the nearest fire pond. They would be furter happered by he fact that the supply connection was above the water line and unusable due to low water levels in the pond from the recent dry conditions, Crews would have the float a suction line out into the pond so that they could draft water for the fire scene.Despite all their efforts the dwellinfg sustained major structural damage.
