Morris Volunteer Fire

Well Involved House Fire 8 East Shore Rd 3/15/13

Morris volunteers arrived to find the ranch style home at the corner of East Shore Rd and Rt 109 with heavy fire show from the first floor and attic space in the area of the chimney. Mutual aid request went out to Bantam,Litchfield, and Bethlehem for manpower,tankers and an engine. Bethlehem was originally dipatched for station coverage but they were called to assist at the scene an engine and crew from Watertown was requested to cover the Morris HQ. With a roof collapse imminent a defense attack was ordered as the heavy fire ran the length of the roof line causing the collapse. Crews knocked downn the main body of fire in approximately an hour but the home was left badly damage by the fast moving fire.
