Middlebury Volunteer Fire

Barn Fire South St 10/18/15

Middlebury Volunteers wer dispatched for a possible structure fire when a call came in from the Oxford Waterbury Airport that a large column of smoke could be seen coming from the South St area. As more calls came in the location was determined to be the March Farm at the end of a long unpaved road off South St. They arrived to find a large steel constructionhay and equipment storage building heavily involved in fire. With no close water source the area tanker strike team was dispatched to help shuttle water to the scene. The building would quickly collapse leaving the large amount of stored hay burning. Excavation equipment was brought to the scene to break apart the hay and allow all hot spots to be extinguished.
