Seymour's Engine 13 which was already manned and returning to station after a demostration was the first to arrive and found heavy fire showing from a single family dwelling which was approximately 500 yds setback off the road. The Oxford crews which were minutes behind setup the ladder truck and layed supply supply lines from a hydrant located directly across the street from the scene. An exterior attack was begun and the fire brought under control after approximately 45 minutes. Additional mutual aid companies from surrounding towns provided station coverage as an extended overhaul operations would be in effect.
