Structure Fire 36 Smith St

Seymour Volunteers along with mutual aid from Oxford, Beacon Falls, and Ansonia Rescue Medical Services responded to a report of a fire at 36 Smith St. Crews found heavy fire in the basement extending to the upper floors. Heavy fire was also found on the second floor and attic space. Crews were able to bring the fire under control after about 30 minutes but would spend and extended period of time overhauling the structure and clear the attic space which was packed with boxes of stored items belonging to the home's occupant.
