Multiple Alarm Fire In A Large Apartment Building 380 South Main St 4/14/18

Shortly after 3pm Seymour Volunteers received a call for a possible structure fire in a multi unit 2 story apartment building at 380 South Main. First due units reported a working fire with heavy fire in the common attic space, at which time mutual aid was requested from Ansonia, Oxford, and Bethany for coverage and resources. With heavy fire burng through and collapseing the roof companies were forced to take up an exterior attack and utilize the deck guns on the Seymour and Ansonia tower ladders. Ten of the 20 units were destroyed leaving atleast 12 people homeless but all escaped without injur. One firefighter received minor injuries fighting the fire. The cause of the incdebt is under investigation
