Southbury Volunteer Fire

Structure Fire 262 Bagley Rd 2/20/15

Volunteers arrived to find the 2 & 1/2 story wood frame with heavy fire showing throughout. With the roof burned through and the possibilty of collapse fire crews took up a defensive attack on the structure on Bagley Rd. With mutual aid from Oxford Volunteers a tanker shuttle supplied water to the multiple handlines in operation. Additionally Seymour and beacon Falls Volunteers assisted in covering stations and Roxbury EMS responded with their Rehab Trailor to provide medical monitoring for the fire fighters working in the temperatures in the teens. It took approximately an hour before the main body of fire was knocked down and crews would remain on scene into the evening overhauling and hitting the hotspots. The Red Cross was called to assist in find temporary shelter for the residents of the dwelling.
