Second Alarm Residential Structure Fire 545 Westledge Dr 12/27/14

Torrington received a call ror a structure fire at 545 Westledge Dr and as the first command units signed on they reported a large tower of smoke coming from the area. As units arrived they reported that the rear of the 2 story wood frame residence was fully involved and heavy fire coming from the attic space. A second alarm was transmitted bringing mutual aid from Litchfield and Harwinton as well as a response from all the volunteer companies in the City. With the trussed roof compromised companies were oredered out of the building and a par was completed as an exterior attack was taken up. The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes but the structure sustained heavy damage throughout.
