Two Alarm House Fire Clarence St 1/30/2010

Torrington Fire arrived at the scene of a house fire to find heavy smoke and fire showing from the rear of a multi-family dwelling at the corner of Clarence and Castle St. With both the career and volunteer deparments on the scene and the the fire extending into the main house on the first and second floors a second alarm was struck bring an engine and RIT team from Winsted, an additional ladder from Litchfield and the air cascade and rehab unit from Harwinton. The main body of fire was knocked down in about 25 minutes but crews would remain on scene overhauling the structure for another 40 minutes. The Torringon Fire Marshal's Office was called to the scene to investigate the cause of the blaze.
