2 Alarm Residential Structure Fire 56 Chamber St 3/06/16

As the first alarm assignment responded to the report of a structure fire at 56 Chambers St the large plume of smoke confirmed they had a get ready to go to work. The first due engine would repot heavy smoke and fire showing from the second floor rear of a two and a half story residential. As heavy fire threatened to consume the entire structure a second alarm was struck to bring two additional engines to the scene to assist. With multiple handlines stretched into the interior of the second floor and Truck 1 opening up the roof, the fire was knocked down keeping the majority of the damage to the second floor. The elderly woman who resided in the home was rescued by her grandson and one of his friends and she was transported by ems to a local hospital for evaluation. Unfortuately her 3 small dogs were not as lucky since they perished as a result of the fire.
