3 Alarm Vacant Mill Building South Main St 12/31/16

The first alarm assignment for a possible structure fire went out after a police patrol spotted smoke and fire coming from a vacant mill building at the corner of Pearl Lake Rd and South Main St. Companies arrived to heavy fire in showin from all floors of a three story vacant heavy timber anf brick mill building. The second alarm would bring 2 companies to protect the exposures on Pearl Lake Rd and the third alarm assignment brought all the resy of the cities resources with the exception of Engine 7 and the request for mutual aid from Wolcott, Naugatuck, and Watertown to provide coverage for the city.
