Waterbury Fire Department

Working Fire 192 Easton Ave

Shortly before 5:30am Waterbury Fire was dispatched for a structure fire at 192 Easton Ave. The address was very familiar to me as my family owned owned the three family house 2 doors away at 198 Easton Ave up until the late 90's. Fire crews reported nothing showing on arrival but upon entering the structure found heavy smoke on the second floor and called for the lines to be charged. As search went underway and Truck 3 laddered the roof the interior crews quickly contained the fire on the second floor. No extension beyond the fire floor was found. The structure was ventilated, power cut, and the fire marshal called to investigate the cause of the fire. With everything under control command released Engine 1, Rescue 9, and Truck 2 and held Engines 2 and 7 and Truck 3 to assist the marshal.
