3 Alarms For A Fire At Budget Transmission On Forest Ave 8/16/09

West Haven battles a stubborn fire in an automotive repair shop on Forest Ave. Due to the heavy fire, possible hazmat problems, and multiple cars in the structure the fire was an external attack early on. Both Allingtown and New Haven's Aerial 1 were set up to attack the fire from above as master streams were set up to battle the fire from ground level. It would take crews over 2 hours to finally bring the fire undercontrol. In addition to battling the fire the crews had to endure temperatures around 90 degrees while fighting the fire. AMR, Allingtown FD/EMS, and the Milford Special Services Unit provided medical and rehab services for those on the scene. The cause of the blaze which badly damaged the business as well as the cars inside remains under investigation.
