Garage Fire Old Sherman Hill Rd !2/04/10

When the resident of the property returned home he found smoke billowing from the six car detatched garage. He opened the door o find heavy fire taking up the loft and roof of the wooden structure which was housing 3 vehicles. Fire crews arrived to find the structure fully involved and now the fire also involved a jeep parked in front of the structure. Mutual aid was requested from Southbury,Roxbury, and Middlebury for tankers, engines, and staion coverage. With the primary fire building collapsing the crews turned thier attention to containment and protection of exposured. The fire would be brought under control after approximately 30 minutes but crews would remain on scene for an extended period of time overhauling the remains of the vehicles and building.
