Well Involved House Fire Mohawk Dr 9/04/10

Watertown Volunteers received multiple 911 calls for a structure fire in the Lake Winnemaug Estates. The house at 14 Mohawk Dr was well know for medical responses and was occupied by a woman in her 90's and her son and there were fears the occupants might still be in the structure. They arrived to find heavy fire blowing out of the front of the structure as well as the right side. Luckily the residents of the house escaped their burning home allowing the fire fighters to put all there attention into suppressing the flames. The main fire was quickly knocked down by an aggressive attack by the volunteers. An additional tanker from Woodbury assisted in shuttling water to the scene and EMS personnel from AMR were on scene to evaluate the victims and standby for medical care for the fire fighters if it had been required. The cause of he fire remains under investigation at this time.
