Structure Fire Williamson Cir and Lewis Dr 9/19/10

The fire tones sounded early this morning for the Watertown Volunteers. At approximately 6:15am a call from a passing motorist reported a structure fire at the house on the corner of Williamson Circle and Lewis Dr in the Oakville section of town. Companies arrived to find a vacant 1.5 story home with heavy fire showing from the roof line and rear of the structure. Engine 1 tied the hydrant directly in front of the house and crews forced entry to quickly stretch lines into the building. While they opened up to attack the fire from the interior Tower 1's crew accessed the roof with a ground ladder in order to open the roof and vent the structure. The fire was knocked down in about 20 minutes but crews would be held on scene to overhaul the structure clear all hot spots. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
