2 Alarm Residential Structure Fire 429 Main St 04/07/17

With multiple calls coming in and the town police reporting the rear of 429 Main St fully engulfed in flames a 2nd alarm was struck even before the first engines arrived on scene. A marijuana extraction lab was though to be the cause of the fire as the flammable chemicals used for the extraction were ignited burning one occupant and setting the large mltiple apartment dwelling ablaze. All the other occupants escaped unharmed. The fire would burn for almost an hour before finally being knocked down by the Watertown volunteers ans mutual aid companies from Bethlehem, Thomaston, Woodbury, Middlebury, and Waterbury.The building sustained heavy damage to the upper floors and was deemed unfit for occupation.
