Medevac Transport Of MVA Accident 12/11/09

Goshen Fire and Ambulance responded to the scene of a 1 car accident on Rt 63 in the area of Holmes Rd. They arrived to find 1 car into a tree with a 20 year old female entrapped. Because of the extended extrication time, the mechanism of injury, and the nearest Trauma Center 20 minutes away by ground transport, the decision was made to call for Lifestar Air Ambulance out of Hartford Hospital, the State's only Level 1 Trauma Center to transport. The patient who was conscious and alert upon removal from the car was transported by Goshen Ambulance to the landing zone a few miles from the scene at the Goshen Center School. Fire fighters established the "LZ" and Lifestar 1 touched down in the parking lot where a "hot" load was performed for transport of the patient to Hartford Hospital for evaluation and treatment
