Seymour Volunteer Fire

Structure Fire 16 Lantern Dr 12/05/2009

Just after midnight Seymour Fire was dispatched for a car fire in an attached garage possibly involving the structure at 16 Lantern Dr. First due units arrived to find the attached garage well involved and heavy black smoke pushing from the residential part of the structure. A second alarm assignment was requested bringing in 2 tankers from the neighboring town of Oxford. With the first engines nearing empty on their water supply and the first mutual aid tankers arriving to establishing a water supply a third alarm was struck bringing additional tankers from Beacon Falls, Bethany, and Stevenson as well as station coverage in the form of an engine and crew from Ansonia. With a little better than 20 minute run from my house to the scene, the fire was knocked down on my arrival.
