Thomaston Volunteer Fire

Structure Fire 779 High St Ext 12/12/09

Shortly after midnight Thomaston Volunteers were called for a possible house fire at 779 High St Ext. They arrived to find a single family ranch type house well involved. A call was made to request mutual aid from Northfield VFD to the scene and Terryville VFD for station coverage. Firefighters battled the fire and freezing temps for about 25 minutes to bring the fire under control. The house sustained extensive damage and crews would remain on scene for an extended period of time to check for hot spots and thoroughly overhaul the structure. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
