Watertown Volunteer Fire

2 Alarm Residential Structure Fire Grandview Ave.

A midday alarm was transmitted for the Watertown volunteers for a structure fire with flames showing from a house on Grandview Ave. Police officers arrived on scene to find a well involved house fire and the assisted the resident from the home unfortunately the fire was so intense that they could not enter the house to rescue the family dog who would perish in the fire. The fire compnies arrived on scene shortly after and immediate mounted an attack of the fire,. Crews were slightly hampered by water problems from the hydrant located on the street but were able to bring the fire under control in about 40 minutes. The home sustained major damage due to the heavy fire which had taken hold of the structure prior to the fire department being alerted.
